Ric Fleck is the owner of Flex Racing and driver of the 2000 Camaro Powerglide Pro Mod, “The Dragon”. The car features a Proline 588CI BBC tuned by Steve Petty and Chris Tuten with chassis work by Don Ness.
After less than spectacular results from the “tried and true” combination of a Fulton engine with Nitrous as a power adder Ric decided to return the team to what they knew best, Procharger Power! With the team’s 9 second stock style suspension car a 97 Trans Am dubbed M.O.A.B. (Mother Of All Birds) an F1 Procharger delivered outstanding results time and time again. So the decision was made to go with the unconventional combination of an F3 Procharger as the power adder for the BBC.
As president of The Quick 8 Outlaws Ric regularly goes up against the fastest Powerglide Pro Mods on the planet featuring a mix between alcohol burning roots blower engines and big cubic inch nitrous motors. So far he has made one quarter final, one semi final and two final round appearances!
The combination keeps getting better and by all accounts has much more to bring to the table in future races. Ric is so confident in the potential of the Procharger/Proline combination he has decided to use it for his new Suncoast 2007 Corvette with chassis work by Mike Floyd.
Ric lives in Lexington, South Carolina with his wife Donna and daughter Brittni.
